Rob oversees the corporate strategy for Protak Scientific and has a passion for continuous change and innovation. Originally one of the early members in Blackberry, he went on to be Senior Commercial Director, Europe for just under a decade and has worked as an investor and advisor for several start-ups in the tech sector. He has a passion for sports car, fine wine and good food from his homeland Italy.
A results-driven Managing Director, Simon has a proven track record of scaling SME manufacturing businesses, leading high-performing teams, and driving strategic growth. With extensive experience across manufacturing, financial services, and technology, he excels in business strategy, operational efficiency, and regulatory leadership, delivering sustainable success in competitive markets. Simon enjoys running and hill walking in his spare time and completed the London Marathon in 2024. He says it was his first and last!
Kate takes overall responsibility for technical operations at Protak Scientific, leading a team of specialists in the implementation and validation of the Enzyme Indicator technology projects as well as a crucial role in developing industry standards and facilitating collaborations with major pharmaceutical companies. A pharmaceutical Microbiologist by profession, including almost 2 decades at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) where her expertise spanned project management, regulatory compliance and technical validation strategies, acting as SME with regulatory bodies including MHRA and FDA. In her spare time, Kate can either be found cooking up a storm in the kitchen or out enjoying the South downs mountain biking.
Jacqueline is responsible for the development and execution of the business strategy and delivering global growth for Protak Scientific. She has held international B2B commercial roles within manufacturing and distribution multinationals for over 20 years in the Life Sciences sector. Experienced in delivering complex customer projects of a highly technical/regulated nature, she thrives on the challenges and rewards these bring to all global stakeholders. Based for 16 years in mainland Europe, she never forgets where she began; on the UK launch of DNA Fingerprinting, now a world-renowned diagnostic technique. A huge food and wine lover, in her spare time she will be cooking, hill walking with her dog or skiing glaciers.
Sarah Jane (SJ) is responsible for the day-to day operation of Protak Scientific for the following departments; Finance, HR, Site Facilities and Production. With over 10 years’ experience in these areas, she ensures everything runs smoothly and meets all company compliance obligations. When not at work, you will find SJ lifting heavy weights in the gym or riding racehorses across the Sussex countryside!
Tracey is responsible for ensuring that Protak Scientific’s product meets the requirements of government regulations and that high-quality product standards are provided to meet customer needs. She spent over 35 years in the In-Vitro Diagnostic sector, holding various roles within manufacturing and Quality. She collects animals in her spare time (currently 3 cats, 2 rabbits, and a grumpy tortoise).
Robin is responsible for the expanding International Business Development Team at Protak. He has over 25 years of B2B experience including 12 years specialising in Enzymatic technology. Robin brings his strategic mindset, managerial experience, passion and customer-centric approach in developing successful long-term relationships with Customers and Partners. In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family, watching sport, playing tennis, long-walks in the great outdoors, business and historical books and podcasts.
Lloyd is a Technical Manager with a strong background in validation, process development and team leadership. With over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, he specialises in driving innovative solutions, optimising development processes, and aligning technology with business goals. Skilled in methodologies, processes, and system architecture, Lloyd leads a cross-functional team to deliver scalable, high-quality technical projects. Passionate about mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative work culture, he is dedicated to empowering teams and driving technical excellence.
Matt is an International Business Development Manager with over 15 years’ experience in the Life Sciences and IVD sectors. He holds a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences: Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. Matt is responsible for supporting an existing portfolio of corporate Customers and responding to new Customer enquiries. In his spare time, Matt enjoys listening to music, going to gigs and plays bass guitar in a metal band with some old school friends.
Antoine is an International Business Development Manager with a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Management Science from the Louvain School of Management. Antoine is responsible for supporting an existing portfolio of corporate Customers and responding to new Customer enquiries. He speaks fluent French and has a keen interest in Geopolitics and Investing. In his leisure, Antoine delves into learning and experimenting with trading tools and strategies, along with indulging in activities like reading and hiking.
Gavin has a wealth of experience with VHP rapid decontamination processes from his 18 year career as a validation specialist in the pharmaceutical aseptic manufacturing industry. As a Product Specialist, Gavin’s role is to support you, the customer, with the application of Enzyme Indicator technology. As well as qualifying and maintaining your PR2A reader, he will use the EI data and knowledge to help you identify potential challenges and practical solutions. He has a keen interest in sports and when he is not playing golf or cycling, he enjoys time spent with his children travelling in his campervan and visiting various theme parks in search of the next adrenaline hit!
Mohammed Mohammed provides expert support to clients as a Specialist in rapid bio decontamination processes, leveraging advanced Enzyme Indicator systems for validation and process optimization. His prior experience includes roles as a Microbiologist and Aseptic Processing Specialist in Food Microbiology, both Sterile and Non-Sterile Pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, as well as contributing to the commissioning, qualification and continuous improvement initiatives of Start-Up Laboratory and pharmaceutical production facilities. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and following the latest news around space exploration.
Tiffany is responsible for planning all global shipments to Protak Scientific’s customers, managing the company’s customer PR2A assets and providing extensive customer service. Additionally, she assisted on various projects to refine and enhance internal processes to improve customer satisfaction. Half French and Half Portuguese, Tiffany started her career in Hospitality and quickly moved into logistics working in another Life Science industry for 5 years before joining Protak Scientific. When she isn’t in the office, she can be found either enjoying rides at a Disney park, trying to complete her yearly reading challenge, or cuddling her cat (mostly the latter).
Maria Paola focuses on generating online sales leads, email, and social media campaigns. She used to work in a similar role with our CEO for search engine sector companies. She loves traveling and even though she is originally from Rome, her favourite city is London and she dreams to travel to New York one day. As an Italian, she’s a proper foodie and a talented cook, especially when it comes to seafood. Her specialty is Amatriciana.
Kiran is a Product Technician who has completed an apprenticeship program at Protak. Beginning his career in the production department, he gained hands-on experience that deepened his understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and EI technology. In his current role, he is responsible for maintaining PR2A readers and other critical laboratory equipment, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance. His passion for continuous learning and professional growth drives him to further develop the essential skills needed for a thriving career in this dynamic sector.
